Holiday pretzel treats

We made these cute little boxes at my hostess club on Thursday evening. I just love boxes and so I have to share that love with all my stamping friends. These boxes were made using the Scallop Envelope die. I cut 4 of them in red cardstock. Cut off one of the flaps and glued them all together, then folded the bottom flaps in and glued them. I say glued but we used red sticky strip. We then used a 2 inch piece of the flocked paper from the Cocoa specialty paper in the Holiday mini and glued it near the bottom of the box as seen above. You need another small piece to finish off the front since you need more than one piece of 12 inches. So cut another piece about 2 inches by 3 inches. I also cut a small strip, I think it was about an inch and put it near the end of the scallop part of the die. We glued this piece on the scallop part of the box. I wasn't going to do that but it looked bare without it. And of course you can't have an empty box so I gave each girl a bag full of Holiday pretzel treats that I made that afternoon. The pretzel treats are so easy to make, you can find the recipe here. The girls had a choice of ribbon to tie around their bag.

Snow, snow, snow..............

We had a huge snowstorm yesterday here on the East Coast. I think we got about 6 or 7 inches here in Douglassville. I like the snow, but I am not crazy about shoveling. But, not to worry, I have great neighbors. My neighbor, Doug, using the plow on his garden tractor kept my driveway clear all day. I think the last time I heard him plowing was about 10:30 last night. And another neighbor, Bill came over to shovel the walk to my porch. There was some drifting overnight so I had to do some cleanup this morning but it wasn't so bad considering how much snow I would have had to shovel without my neighbors.
I took these pictures this morning before I shoveled so you can see how the snow even blew onto the front porch.

How pretty does this look???? The sun was out just a minute ago so I hope that we have more sunshine today, just enough to dry up the sidewalks so I don't have to dump salt on them. Have a very nice sunny day.

Christmas Ornaments

Sorry that I haven't been posting a lot lately. I had lots of cards to finish for Christmas and finally got them all in the mail on Monday evening. Then the tree to decorate which also was finished Monday by midnight. Now I am working on some cute cards for my hostess club this coming Thursday so I will post them later this week. And I am also working on some projects for my Christmas team meeting get together on Friday night. The projects for my team are using stamps and punches from the new Occassions and SAB mini catalogs. I will be posting them on Dec 31 for the next blog tour so stop back to see them later this month.
For my last class for this year, we made these ornaments using clear glass balls, reinkers and dazzling diamonds glitter. The rubons are the "icicle" rubons from the Holiday mini catalog. Everyone had a good time and got some ink on their fingers, except Ivy............. Don't know how she got away without any ink especially when she was also juggling holding and feeding a baby at times....These are Debbie's ornaments.. And these are Carol's.

These are Ivy's.

And these are Sherry's. She had some problems with the rubons and we determined it was from the plastic gloves that I provided for those not wanting to get lots of ink on their fingers.

Evereyone also brought a snack to share so we had full tummies before we started our ornaments. I can't wait to make some more. My friend, Lisa just told me that she used the galaxy glitter and I saw on someone's blog today where she used shimmer paint so I can't wait to try those also.

Not a Christmas card

I have been posting lots and lots of Christmas ideas and cards so I had to show you something that is not Christmas but rather a nice fall birthday card. This is made using whisper white , elegant eggplant and more mustard cardstock and Autumn Traditions designer series paper. The flower is done with the Flower Burst Embosslit die. I just love these dies that emboss and cut at the same time. I also used a texturz plate to give the whisper white a bit of umph...
